Ray Charles would be able to see how stupid, pathetic, and demeaning this jersey really is. I'm not Italian but I know a few, that if I showed this jersey to, they would like to have a talk with the person that designed it and would like to have a sitdown with the person that approved it. FYI, I do see the humor in it but it's just inappropriate to represent a state in this way.

Bill, where did you get this from?? I had taken it off Rob B's facebook and Tommy had sent it to me on the phone. I thought this was Steve being creative, but it seems that fact that it offends people is not a problem. Here is his reply on facebook

I'm also a member of this site, and open to comments and criticism's on why you find the jersey offensive and not 'appropriate' for children. The jersey doesn't have a single discriminatory thing on it, it simply pokes fun at the fact that pop culture see's new jersey as the jersey shore. Embracing it and accepting the joke is the only way not to feed the fire.
Also if you think these jerseys aren't going to get NJ riders massive amounts of publicity from BMXnow, the NBL magazine, and other bmx news sources which rely heavily on pictures, you're not thinking. And yes it will be good publicity, because despite poking fun at the jersey shore tv show, NJ riders are pretty damn fast this year and will probably out in front. The jersey is going to get press, and it's going to be good press because they are going to focus on how well the riders did while standing out from every plane jane jersey design.

You are using the colors of the Italian flag which is reinforcing a stereotype. It's BMX not a soccer match people (children) shouldn't have to wear the colors of a country that's not their heritage. Just because your making fun of something doesn't mean it's not offensive.

Glad to hear its a joke. Remember folks - IMAGE IS EVERYTHING. The role of us parents is to lead our children - the right way. While it may be nice to embrace our heritage, it may not always be appropriate.
This is truly another low moment for NJBMX Inc.
What will we have next?
BMX is not Italian, Irish, German, White, Black, Red, Asian or anything.
BMX IS BMX!!!
BMX IS AMERICAN and we are the MELTING POT!
To use any flag other than 'Ol Glory is inappropriate. I have friends who are Italian, German, Irish, English who all gave their blood for 'Ol Glory. To have any other flag on a State Jersey would just be wrong.
