What do you do for cardio fitness if anything besides just riding?
I find my cardio very lacking and need to do something.
Do you just sprint a few times a week or do you add in long rides also?

burpees for time-- start with 50, when you get down under 2:45minutes start doing 100
deck of cards-- red cards are squats and black cards are pushups-- turn over a card and do that many reps-- face cards are 10
no excuses--only 10 minutes-- how bad could it be? round 1- •Burpees x 60 seconds •Pull-ups x 60 seconds •Squats x 60 seconds •Pushups x 60 seconds Second Round
•Burpees x 45 seconds •Pull-ups x 45 seconds •Squats x 45 seconds •Pushups x 45 seconds Third Round
•Burpees x 30 seconds •Pull-ups x 30 seconds •Squats x 30 seconds •Pushups x 30 seconds Fourth Round •Burpees x 15 seconds •Pull-ups x 15 seconds •Squats x 15 seconds •Pushups x 15 seconds
i have these all day long if you need more

If fitness is not to be race specific I mix it up. Ride the rollers, walk extremely fast, jump rope.
Its funny that cardio for racing is all about the burst, but cardio for overall fitness is about variety - at least for me that's how it seems to work.
If I am just working on racing then its sprinting down a 10 degree hill for 200+ feet turn around back up, back down till I bonk. Alternate days with jumping rope. Allow a day for recovery every 3rd day.
If its life in general then I like to mix it up, not do any one thing too much. Just try to love each day and work with it.

If all of the above fail, curl lots of 40ozs ;D You may not be any fitter, but you'll have a blast
